CRJS 432 – Law Enforcement – 3 hours credit

CRJS 432 Law Enforcement3 hours credits – An examination of significant and controversial criminal justice topics involving law enforcement agencies, primarily the police; clarifying, interpreting, and identifying the role of discretion in the system. This course provides competencies to meet the program outcome to allow students to demonstrate an understanding of learning the basic rights guaranteed to each individual by both state and federal constitutions and laws.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will be able to:

  • Identify and interpret the various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in the United States.
  • Predict police behavior and their response to crime and other social issues.
  • Comprehend the ethical and moral decision making process of law enforcement officers.
  • Identify police stressors and their consequences.
  • Enter the recruitment and screening process unique to criminal justice agencies.
